What's missing
Where the app can't follow a rule to the letter yet, its notes say so, and say how to allow for it when you enter your hours. From this page's agreements:
- Maintenance (NMA / GPMA). A 12-h turnaround, where the breaks are inside the 12 h, and a 12-h unscheduled day are both logged as 12 h); on an ordinary overtime day past 10 h where you took the paid meal break, add ½ h to the day. Breaks not given: under each day count the breaks you did not get, up to 3; each pays ½ h at your wage rate on any worked day, the way the CAM stub pays an "NA Meal Break". The agreements word it higher: time and a half for a missed scheduled half-hour break on a 10-h shift (NMA 15.100(i), GPMA 13.100) and 30 minutes at the straight-time total package rate for an overtime meal not provided (15.602; $67.76 for a 2026 journeyperson at Fort McMurray), so a stub paying either of those is not wrong. On a day over 10 h a count also stands for the overtime meal not provided on unscheduled overtime (15.602 B), once that day: $40 plus a paid 15-minute rest break at the applicable rate (double past 10 h). Scheduled overtime (notice before the end of the previous shift, 15.602 A) and a turnaround shift carry no $40: take it off. No $40 on subsistence or camp days either (15.604, 15.700): the calculator drops it on days with living-out ticked.
Enter your own hours in the Carpenter Cheque app: it applies these rates, the overtime and holiday rules, dues and tax, and keeps a year of cheques. Free for a month.
